Enhanced Guide to Adding Student Marks in Examinations

In this article, we’ll explore the efficient methods for adding students' examination marks, focusing on two distinct approaches: Student Wise Marking and Subject Wise Marking. This comprehensive guide will help educators streamline the marking process, ensuring accurate data management and easy retrieval of student performance metrics.

Method 1: Student Wise Marking

Overview: The Student Wise Marking method allows you to enter all subjects' marks for each student in a single session. This approach is ideal for educators who prefer a holistic view of each student’s performance.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Navigate to the Examination Details Screen: Begin by clicking on the Marking Button. A pop-up will appear displaying the available classes.
  2. Select a Class: Click on your desired class to proceed. If you mistakenly select the wrong class, simply click on it again to view all available options.
  3. Choose the Marking Method: After selecting a class, you’ll be presented with two marking methods. Click on Student Wise Marking to continue.
  4. Access the Student Marking Screen: You will be directed to the Student Marking Screen. Click on any student whose marks you wish to enter. A pop-up will show the selected student's details along with the list of examination subjects.
  5. Enter Marks: Input the marks for each subject. After entering marks, click on the Save & Next button. This action will save the current student's marks and display the next student's details. You can navigate through subjects using the Enter key or by clicking on each subject manually.
  6. Marking Absentees: If a student is absent, click the Absent button to record their absence effectively.
  7. Flexibility in Marks Entry: There are no restrictions on completing marks entry for all students at once. You can close the marking pop-up and return later. Upon closing, any entered marks will remain saved, while students without marks will disappear from the list.

Method 2: Subject Wise Marking

Overview: The Subject Wise Marking method allows you to enter marks for each subject across all students. This approach is particularly beneficial for educators who want to focus on specific subjects at a time.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Access the Marking Button: Click on the Marking Button to view a pop-up with the list of classes.
  2. Select a Class: Choose the class for which you want to add marks. The marking options will then be displayed.
  3. Choose the Marking Method: Click on Subject Wise Marking to access the Subject Marking Screen, which will display a list of subjects.
  4. Select a Subject: Click on the desired subject, for example, Computer Science. A pop-up will display the students who still need to have their marks entered.
  5. Enter Marks: Input the marks for each student. After entering the marks, click on the Save & Next button to save the current student's marks and move on to the next student. You also have the option to mark any student as absent or to close the marking session and continue later.
  6. Completion of Marking: Once all students have been marked for a subject, it will be marked as completed.
  7. View Award List: By clicking on the subject, you will be taken to the Award List Screen. This screen displays a summary of all students’ marks and overall subject results, including total student count, pass/fail ratios, average marks, and percentage results.
  8. Editing Marks: To edit a student's marks, click on the respective student’s name. The marking form will appear; update the marks as necessary and click the Update button to save your changes.

Generating Award List PDF

  1. Create the PDF: For a formal record of subject results, click on the PDF icon located in the top right corner. This action will generate a PDF containing the subject results, making it easy to share or archive.

By following these detailed steps for both Student Wise and Subject Wise marking, educators can ensure a smooth and accurate assessment process, ultimately enhancing the educational experience for both students and faculty.
